The Unfinished Victory is part of Emotional Cartography, an ongoing series of abstract paintings that preserve the emotional landscape of moments I never want to forget.
 
Inspired by a defining moment of collective courage in contemporary India, this painting is an emotional response to the historic student protest at Jantar Mantar and the day victory was declared. It does not seek to document history, but to preserve the emotions of witnessing it.
 
Anonymous figures move together through a field of intense red, which is a colour that speaks of urgency, resistance, courage and the unfinished nature of the struggle. At the centre, a solitary red figure quietly emerges from the crowd, symbolising the individual who chooses to step forward despite uncertainty. Across the upper edge, broken white marks hint at hope, while reminding us that meaningful change is rarely complete.
 
Rather than documenting history, The Unfinished Victory preserves an emotional memory. It is a reminder that while events eventually fade from memory, the emotions they awaken often remain with us.
