About the Artwork

This White Tiger comes from an encounter I have never been able to forget. Years ago, while working on an unrelated story, I came face-to-face with a white tiger in a controlled environment. He was wounded. His legs had been amputated. The space was dark, his body frail, his freedom long gone. And yet, the first thing I noticed was not loss. It was power. I noticed his eyes before anything else. There was a long, unbroken silence between us. No sound. No movement. Just presence. Then, he leapt. The way tigers do in nature. It was instinct, not effort. For a brief moment, muscle remembered freedom. When the body could not follow, he settled back without hesitation, lifted his head, and looked again. There was no embarrassment. Only presence. That look stayed with me. This painting is not about captivity or tragedy. It is about what remains when everything else is taken away. Rendered in the Facet Glass Art style, the tiger’s face is constructed through fractured planes of light. These facets hold tension and stillness at once, allowing power and vulnerability to coexist without diminishing either. The light does not fall on the tiger; it emerges from within. It is a ferocious light. Embodied rather than displayed. The tiger observes the viewer, yet remains indifferent. It watches the world while standing firmly in itself. Ancient, calm, assured. This work focuses only on the face because that is where the encounter lives. That is where memory, power, and hope converge. If the tiger could speak, it would say only this: I see you.

CREATURES OF LIGHT

About the Series

Creatures of Light is an ongoing series of large-format, one-of-one digital paintings, realised as singular physical works on archival canvas. These creatures are not mere beings. They are presences. In this series, each creature is rendered through fractured planes of light and form. It becomes a way of holding memory, power, and inner force. They exist alongside us, often unseen in daily life, reminding us of power that does not need performance and beauty that does not need permission. Creatures of Light is an evolving series. Approximately one new work will be added every month. Every artwork in this series is created digitally and printed only once on archival canvas using archival inks. There are no editions and no reproductions. Each painting exists as a single physical object.
