At 2,717 feet, the Burj Khalifa is the tallest freestanding structure in the world—a 160+ floor giant inspired by the desert’s Spider Lily. Head up to the 148th floor, sip on a mocktail, and watch the sun melt into Dubai’s skyline.

It took six years, 22 million man-hours, and enough concrete to match the weight of 100,000 elephants to build. Its 26,000 hand-cut glass panels shimmer in the sun, while 18 custom fragrances keep the air smelling as expensive as the building itself. Water? 946,000 litres daily, stored in tanks every 30 floors.

Inside? Four pools, two observation decks, luxury residences, offices, and the Armani Hotel—designed to feel like Armani’s home, no check-in desks required.

And the final touch? Fixing the spindly antenna at the very tip. A Nepali worker did the job, earning 80,000-85,000 dirhams for his nerve-wracking climb. Rumour has it, he got Dubai citizenship—a near-impossible feat. Officially? "Top secret." But locals whisper that one Nepali man might just be the exception.
