What are mini-portraits? How big are they

Mini portraits are stylised digital portraits. They are A5-sized portraits (which is half of an A4). They are small, but packed with character.

What is a stylised portrait?

A stylised portrait is not meant to be an exact copy of a photo. Instead, it plays with exaggeration, simplification, or artistic interpretation to capture the essence, spirit, and personality of the subject. The resemblance is clear, but it won’t look like a photograph.

What style are they done in?

Sometimes minimal, sometimes detailed. but always in my unique messy digital watercolour + pen-and-ink style.

 

In what formats can I commission a mini portrait?

You can choose between:

• Digital Download: A high-resolution JPEG file sent to your email. You can print it at home or at your local printer, following the instructions I share.

• Digital Print: A giclée print on premium *archival paper. This is shipped to you unframed, carefully packed for protection. You can frame it in a simple black or wooden frame of your choice.  

*Archival paper is a premium, acid-free paper designed to keep prints vibrant and fade-resistant for decades.

What is the cost of commissioning mini-portraits?

Digital Download: ₹2500 (available worldwide)

Digital Print: ₹3000 (available only within India)

Prices mentioned are for portraits of up to 2 people. An additional ₹100 will be charged per extra person added.

What do I need from you to create a mini portrait?

Clear, front-facing photos plus a few details about the person, for example, the colours they love or traits you’d like captured. Please do not send screenshots.

Can I request specific colours or a background?

​Yes, absolutely.​

How long does it take to create a mini portrait?

Digital downloads will be delivered within 5 business days of when I start work, and printed portraits will be shipped within 7-10 business days.

Please note: this timeline begins after I start your commission, which may vary depending on existing bookings. I'll always let you know your estimated start date at the time of confirmation, via WhatsApp.

Can I see the artwork before it's printed? Can I ask for edits or revisions?

No, there aren’t previews or revisions for mini-portraits. Each one is created in my signature style as a one-of-a-kind artwork. If you like what you see on my website, you’ll most likely love the portrait I make for you.

Do you ship mini portrait prints outside India?

I ship mini-portrait prints anywhere in India, but not internationally. International clients can commission a digital download.

How are they packaged? 

Prints are wrapped in glassine, sandwiched between hardboards, sealed in bubble-wrap waterproof envelopes, and shipped safely.

Can I gift a mini portrait to someone? Will you gift wrap it for me?

Of course! Most of my mini-portraits are commissioned as unique, personal gifts. I also offer a special gift wrap option. Your portrait will be wrapped beautifully, and I’ll include your message handwritten on a hand-painted card, all for just ₹100.

The intent is always to capture the spirit, essence, and clear resemblance of the person, rather than the precise proportions of a photo. By commissioning this work, you have acknowledged and agreed to these terms. Please note that reworking a portrait is not possible, as each piece is an original artwork created in this style. Trust the creative process!
